![]() If you are looking for more information on CorelDRAW X7, we have a page linking to all previous articles as well as links to purchase from Corel and Amazon. Nowadays about the only difference between the boxed version and the download version is having the software on a DVD. The wow factor that used to exist when opening boxes of previous versions is gone. The included DVD has approximately 3 GB of unused space so the lack of extras on the DVD wasn’t due to a lack of space. There is not a way to download it all at once, you have to download each piece of content individually. Clipart, fonts, photos and other content previous found on the DVD are now only accessible through Corel CONNECT. Unlike previous versions, there are no “extras” on the DVD. You’ll just need to have a good connection to the Internet to watch them. A shortcut is installed that brings up a player linking to each of the available videos. Video tutorials are available, but they are all stored on YouTube. The only other instructional content included on the DVD are help files and the embedded Hints Docker. There were six different “Insights From the Experts” tutorials in PDF format explaining how a specific type of project could be created. If there is a user manual in PDF format, I was not able to find it on the DVD. ![]() There is also a single DVD and a sticker with the serial number. No other printed materials are in the box. There is a six panel flyer showing award winning designs and an eight panel chart with shortcut keys. If you want printed manuals, you won’t find any in the CorelDRAW X7 box. The CorelDRAW 4 box is probably about five inches thick where the CorelDRAW X7 box is maybe half an inch thick. What isn’t obvious in the picture is the thickness of the two boxes. One of the biggest was the CorelDRAW 4 box (from 1993) so I took a picture of the two of them together so you could see the difference. When the box first arrived, it was a bit of a shock to see the size as it is by far the smallest box of CorelDRAW I’ve ever received. ![]() I still have not used the software enough to give you my detailed thoughts, but I did want to describe exactly what is contained in the box. As I had not received my box until recently, I was not able to give my opinion. Same reason you find all government issued ID has an expiry, as its not given to you, they can pull it back when they want for any reason they want (which is generally outline in passports (gendercide etc.) and driving licenses can be taken by the police as you never own them.A number of people have asked me what I thought of CorelDRAW X7. They basically ended up saying once the license was activated, to reactive it was up to them (aka did you need to reload it, or did you see it used), some where sold new, unused and those activated fine. Seem to remember Sony tried a stunt like this with Vegas and other real good software. From memory they can only get away with this if the license has an expiry you need to uphold and no one liked that with boxed software, ergo they all moved to cloud based licensing, if it didnt it was deemed as sold to you. This is a play on words and likely will only work in the US, other countries unblur this, as "licensed to you, not sold" means its rent ware, unless you agreed to a rental agreement most legal systems will deem it as "sold" so you, can see why Coral wanted to move away from boxed software. You may only purchase and/or download the Software from Corel's or its authorized reseller's store, eStore, or website that is located in the country in which you hold legal residency.Īgain, this might really not be a problem at all - but Corel seems to leave the door open for them to not honor a license that was obtained through non-authorized sources. Otherwise You don't have a right to use the Software. You must lawfully acquire the Software from Us, or Our authorized resellers. The Software is licensed to You, not sold to You. This is from the EULA that see for CorelDRAW X7: However, I point out that, at least in the EULA that I see in the United States, Corel has language that indicates that they may not consider that to be a valid license. It might work perfectly well, activate correctly at Corel's servers, etc. It may be possible to find a "new in the box" copy of CorelDRAW. I'm just going to cut and paste this from another post I made in this subreddit a while back. I guess I can look for an old X7 license?
